After nearly two years in Alarica we’re finally moving on to some new things, starting with some new characters! This chapter will be a fun one, if only for the fact that it’ll be much different than the comic has been for a long time! See you tomorrow for the first page!

You may (although probably not) remember this fine crew from the end of chapter 8; Although Marcus has made a few other appearances throughout the story! He’s a character who I’ve drawn a lot since he first appeared on page 4, so I’m really happy to be working with him for real! I hope you enjoy, see you tomorrow!
And here we get a little bit of a view on this groups dynamic; one that’s relatively new, since Marcus has only been hanging out with these people since Topal was destroyed! One thing I’m having lots of fun with this chapter is working with some people from the same place as Bingo and Annabelle!
The last year has been stressful for drawing comics, lots of important story beats I wanted to hit. With that in mind, I’m having a blast with this chapter! Most of the story progression this chapter will be in the background, so this is gonna be a really nice breather; I get to experiment a lot and have fun!
Nate’s songs are some silly dumb things I’ve been writing down for a long time, but reading the Hobbit a lot and having Nate actually present in the story made me decide to put one in the actual comic! Hopefully having a written word song in a webcomic isn’t too weird! I also thought this would be an interesting way to convey some mythology? I namedropped Sala a LONG time ago, thinking it would take a lot less time to follow up on, oops!
This flash is of course where our last chapter ended! Sorry for missing yesterday, I had some pretty weird website issues, this is the first time I’ve been able to upload anything! Hopefully the problem doesn’t persist! I will be taking a bit of a break anyways though, since I’m going to be tabling at VanCAF this weekend! It’s free admission, so if you’re in the area, come stop by! Comics will be back on Monday, as we follow up with poor Arthur!
I’m back from VanCAF! It was a fantastic convention, and I met (and saw again!) tons of incredible friends! I loved it, but at the same time I’m very glad to be back, and recovering from my extreme sleepiness! This page didn’t work out SO well because of my break, but I’m excited for tomorrows! I’ll see you then, as we check in on an old friend!
Look who it is! It’s our good friend Arthur! You can catch up on his past adventures in chapters 4 and 8, we’ll be spending some brief time with him during this story! When we left off with him, he was sitting in Alarica, contemplating his plans for Worlds Peak.
And just like that our friends meet, new and old! Sorry for missing yesterday, this page didn’t work out and I was too frustrated to finish it, but here it is anyways! Time to move on! I might post tomorrow, but I might also take it off since it’s my bday. We’ll see!
We’re back!! I hope you’ll excuse this long unannounced break (and that it doesn’t ruin your enjoyment of this story!) but I ended up having to focus on finishing school, and this summer’s been a bit crazy, I’m spending lots of time with my friends before I go away in September! Quick housekeeping, at one point I said I would be trying to finish this whole thing up by October; I’ve changed my mind! I decided I’ve spent long enough on this story that I don’t wanna just “get it over with”, whether I like it or not this means a lot to me! Even if it means weekly updates come September I’m not gonna ruin the ending to get it out of the way. We’ll see how things go moving forward! For now I’ll see you tomorrow for more updates!
As we know, that little bubble of gimmicks house is solid when it comes to fire and smoke, making it now the LEAST burnt thing in alarica! I guess that shows how far the wizards powers have increased in the past thousand years. See you tomorrow!
Here we find out a bit about what happened to Kiasha! There’s some sucky stereotypes in fantasy stories around disability, I was excited to use some of those tropes (bc using fantasy tropes is the heart of this comic) but do it in a more tasteful way. Stories using characters disabilities as a plot device was pretty bad for me when I was younger, I thought it’d be interesting to do that same thing in a way that didn’t put Kiasha down. Anyways, I’ll see you tomorrow as this whole gang gets even MORE tense!
